We always cut our kids' hair at home until they are old enough to go to school. I actually cut our oldest daughter's hair at home occasionally even now. I wanted to get new scissors to use and these are great. The set includes two pairs of hair cutting shears: one with straight blades and one with textured blades for removing length, trimming, shaping, layering, styling, maintaining and thinning. I did find that the blades are sharp, so I will probably stick to using this to cut the older kids' hair and my own, but I am glad that they work so smoothly and easily. The set also includes two straight edge clips that you can use to make sure that you are cutting straight. Overall, this is a nice, high quality set at a great price and I recommend it.
