I had the opportunity to try this corkscrew and aerator and was very pleased with both. This is a lovely handmade corkscrew that looks very elegant and would make a lovely gift. Most of the people I work with are avid wine drinkers, so I am often getting corkscrews, aerators and the like as business gifts. This corkscrew is ideal because it has such nice packaging and is made of such great quality. I think that a lifetime guarantee says a lot about the manufacturer’s confidence in their product. The corkscrew is very easy to use and easy to clean. It has a nice weight to it without being too heavy and the foil cutter works beautifully as well. I also tried the aerator from the same manufacturer and was equally impressed.
While I am anything but a wine expert, I do now that you are supposed to let wine “breathe” for a couple of hours before you drink it so that it tastes smoother. Unfortunately, I rarely have the time or patience to actually do this. That’s why I love using aerators, which helps filter air into the wine and accelerate the aeration process.
