Paname Restaurant NYC Review

I think that I have found my new favorite restaurant. This is a charming little Parisian neighborhood spot right on Second Avenue, between 56th and 57th Streets. I had dinner with my mom there on Friday evening and we both fell in love with this place. As soon as you walking in, you feel like you've been transported to Paris. The prices are lower than what I usually expect to pay for good food in Manhattan, the decor is lovely and the staff immediately greets you like you are a regular. They are super friendly but not obtrusively so. The tables were set simply but with real flowers; short on snobbery and long on charm.

The menu has a nice variety of meat, seafood and pasta dishes. We got the prix fixe menu, which seemed like the obvious choice for us. My mom got the tomato, Mozzarella, Basil appetizer and I had the crab cakes with remoulade sauce. We were also served delicious porcini mushrooms to start off. I don't like mushrooms and I still enjoyed this. Our entrees were the New York Shell Steak Aux Echalottes, which was grilled to perfection, and the Lobster Ravioli, which has very large and sumptuous pieces of pasta. All of the dishes had generous portions, were presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. My only complaint is that we were too full to have dessert! I can't wait to go back there again!
